This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit www.getwisecode.com (the “Site”) or use our mobile applications (the “App”).

Personal Information We Collect

When you visit the Site or App, we collect certain information about you. We collect your name and age. After you create an account, you can add dietary preferences and allergens. When you visit the Site or App, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device.

If you subscribe to our Food Recall Alert service, we may collect location information to determine if a food recall has been issued in your state of residence. Additionally, as you browse the Site or App, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site or App, and information about how you interact with the Site or App. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”

We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

  • Log files – track actions occurring on the Site or App, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
  • Web beacons, tags, and pixels – electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site or App.

Additionally, when we refer to “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking about Device Information and Dietary Information.

Real Time App Permissions

Push Notifications:

By allowing push notifications, you enable us to send you real-time updates, reminders, and promotional messages. You can enable or disable push notifications at any time through your device settings. We may use unique device identifiers to deliver these notifications.

Camera Access/Permission:

The App may request access to your device’s camera for taking photos, scanning QR codes, or participating in video calls. Camera access requires your explicit permission. Any photos or videos captured are used only for the intended purpose and are not stored or shared without your consent, unless required by law.

Location Services/Permission:

Certain features, such as our Food Recall Alert service, may require access to your location. Location data is collected only with your explicit consent and is used solely to provide location-based services, navigation assistance, or localized content. We retain location data only as long as necessary and do not share it with third parties, unless required by law.

User Controls:

You can review and manage these permissions through your device settings or account settings. Please note that refusing or revoking certain permissions may limit or impair the functionality of the App.

How Do We Use Your Personal Information?

Dietary Restrictions: We use the dietary restrictions you provide to recommend foods that are suitable for your dietary needs.

Order Fulfillment: When you place an order through the Site or App, we will maintain your Dietary Information from the items you have scanned for our records and to better fulfill your orders (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations).

Communication: We use the Dietary Information we collect to communicate with you. We use the Dietary Information to send you information about your account, app updates, insights, and recommendations. We may also use your Dietary Information to send you emails, SMS messages, in-app messages, and push notifications.

Marketing/Advertising: We use the Dietary Information we collect to provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services based on your preferences.

Risk/Fraud Screening: We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site or App (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site or App, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

Opt Out

Email/SMS marketing communications

You are automatically enrolled in email and SMS marketing communications when you create an account or sign up on our website.

Email Opt-out: You can opt out of receiving email marketing communications by emailing us at privacy@wisecode.ai or by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in any email.

Text Opt-out: You can opt out of receiving text marketing communications by replying “STOP” to any text message. Msg&Data rates may apply.

Aggregated And Analytics Information

We use analytics tools such as Google, HubSpot, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, Segment, AppNexus, Microsoft, and Mixpanel to help us understand how our customers use the Site or App. These tools help us understand user behavior by tracking page content, clicks/touches, movements, scrolls, and keystrokes. The privacy practices of these tools are subject to their own policies and they may use their own cookies. For more information about cookies, please refer to the ‘Cookies’ section above.

We may use additional analytics services in the future. If we do, we will provide notice of such changes on our website, via email, or through other electronic means.

We may use anonymous, statistical, or aggregated information (which may be based on information derived from your personal information) for our business purposes, including for testing, development, control, and operation of the Service. This information may be shared with our partners, but it has no effect on your privacy as it cannot be associated with you or used to identify you. We will only share identifiable information in accordance with the terms of this policy or with your prior consent.

Communication

We use Braze, a US-based company, to send you in-app messages, push notifications, and emails. These communications may include information about your account, app updates, insights, and recommendations based on the data we track about your usage.

The data processed by Braze includes your email address, name, user identifier, tracked health data, and usage data. This data is treated in a masked, obfuscated (pseudonymized) form.

Sharing Your Personal Information

We share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use your Personal Information, as described above.

We may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

We may also use your Personal Information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing communications we believe may be of interest to you. Data Retention

When you place an order through the Site or App, we will maintain your account and Dietary Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information.

Your rights

WISEcode will not sell or share Data as defined by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CPRA”). CPRA creates the following rights:

  1. Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
  2. Right to limit use and disclosure of sensitive personal information.
  3. Right to know (request disclosure of) personal information collected, from whom it was collected, why it was collected, and, if sold, to whom.
  4. Right to delete personal information collected.
  5. Right to opt-out of the sale of personal information (if applicable).
  6. Right to opt-in to the sale of personal information.
  7. Right to non-discriminatory treatment for exercising any rights.
  8. Right to initiate a private cause of action for data breaches.

Response to Requests

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at legal@wisecode.ai. We will respond to your request within 45 days or as required by law.

If your request is not from the account’s administrative owner, we may require you to provide credentials to verify your identity. This helps us prevent the disclosure of personal information to others and to understand the nature and scope of the personal information you are requesting.

Security Measures

We use commercially reasonable efforts to secure and protect your personally identifiable information, including encryption, access control, password policies, data retention procedures, and other related measures.

Minors

The Site and Apps are not intended for individuals under 18.
